How to make nut milk at home….

The process of making homemade nut milk at home is super simple.

Step one, add the ingredients (besides the water) into a high-speed blender.

Then, pour in the water until the nuts are fully submerged in the liquid. Remember that you can always add more, but you cannot remove it.

Blend the ingredients until creamy.

Pour the liquid creamy mixture into a nut bag and squeeze until the milk comes out of the bag.

Pro-tip: don’t throw away the nut flesh that is left in the juice bag after you squeeze all of the juice out. Keep the flesh and add it to other healthy recipes!

Nut Milk Variations

There are plenty of different ways to make nut milk. Here are a few that you can give a try!

  • Nutty – add almonds, cashews, and macadamia nuts to the blender. Blend & strain.
  • Vanilla – add vanilla extract to the recipe.
  • Chocolate Tahini– add cacao powder & sesame seeds to the recipe. I would also add 5 more dates to ensure the milk is sweet enough.

Equipment

To make plant milk at home, you will definitely need a high-speed blender & a nut bag.

I swear by the Vitamix. It is powerful, sturdy, and long-lasting (I have had mine for almost 6 years!).

Also, to make the milk, you will need a nut bag. This one is my favorite and it is super affordable.

Storage

To store the homemade nut milk, use a glass jar or a mason jar. Try to consume the milk within a week of preparing it.

Top tip

Use the nut flesh remains as a base for a raw vegan dessert like this one!
