I always see the orange cranberry scones at Starbucks but get bummed because they are not vegan or gluten-free.
That is why I decided to “veganize” the Starbucks orange cranberry scones.
This was inspired by my healthy pumpkin scones recipe on my site. In short, I am a big scone fan. Finding ways to make scones healthy is my specialty!

This recipe comes together in ~15 minutes. Let’s get into it so you can start baking!
Start by combining the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Then, make a hole in the middle of the dry ingredients bowl. Pour the liquid ingredients into the hole.
Mix the dry and wet ingredients until a dough forms. Work the dough with your hands (use flour if needed!). Press the dough into a large & flat circle. Cut the scones into triangles.
Place the triangles on a cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for ~23-28 minutes. Let the scones cool after they bake.
Drizzling icing on top of the scones and enjoy!
These scones will change your life!
Substitutions
Here are a few substitutes that would be acceptable.
- Coconut Oil – Feel free to use vegan butter or dairy butter. I prefer using a clean and non-dairy fastener when baking.
- Gluten-Free Flour – You can use regular all-purpose flour if you so choose. Please note that the recipe will no longer be gluten-free if you choose all-purpose flour.
Equipment
You can easily whip these scones together with just bowl and a spoon! It’s as easy as that! I love to let my scones dry on this cooling rack (it is only $14.99).
Storage
To store the orange cranberry scones, feel free to throw the flakey pastries into this glass food storage container.
I swear by these containers. Plus, the package comes with a few different sizes. It is great for food storage when you make too much of any recipe.
Top tip
Make these scones at the start of the week & freeze what you don’t eat. That way, when you want a quick snack or sweet pastry breakfast, heat up the scone and enjoy!
